heres one for the books, last race at BWRP on the fourth day on the track for my car it developed a vibration at around a hundred mph that would stop when I backed out of the throttle, end of the day sunday I noticed a little golf ball sized puddle on the ground under the rear end. got it up on stands this morning and all the third member bolts were either half backed out or starting to, front of my fuel cell was coated with gear oil and you could see the oil trails across the bottom of the cell and the rear ends dam near empty. hey Basil, once again my rx7 does a excellent imitation of a brittish car. lol anyway, has anyone had this happen to them?

I didn't get the vibration thing but during the first track day of the year this year, I too was spraying oil all over my gas tank and every one of my bolts were loose. I have not touched those bolts for two years since I installed the gears. It has now been added to my offseason check list http://Forums.ImprovedTouring.com/it/smile.gif

Now that I think of it I did make a mental note to check the lock washers on those bolts but never did, guess I got something to do this weekend after all.

Daryl, you got your sites mixed up. http://Forums.ImprovedTouring.com/it/tongue.gif Do you think Basil would (Please excuse me folks)#ower himself to the IT site? http://Forums.ImprovedTouring.com/it/eek.gif

Back to your subject, sometime back I found the rear end bolts loose on my 1st gen & posted a message about the subject. Common issue to many. It had been a while since I paid attention to those bolts. Found a drip or two on the garage floor.

Mine comes loose every year or so. I fix it by with taking out all the bolts, shifting the pinion piece forward, putting red sealer in and resealing it. Seems to be good for one season (5 or 6 weekends). It will start loosening again the next season. Anyone know of any longer-term fixes?
