Giventhe gains that the intaks and exhaust mods net you on a 13B, the fatory computer mapping has to be maxed out.

Anyone have a source for an upgraded / custom burnt chip?

Hey Andy,

The last bit of info I got was the MD Race chip. Last time I called them (like almost a year ago), they quoted me $370 for an ITS chip for my `91. I didn't go with it, but I have heard good results from the mod. I heard 13HP increase on an `88 so the increase my be slightly higher for a series 5.

The website seems to be down rightnow, but I will look into getting a number for you.

Hey Paul. It would be helpful if you could post the website address. A search on Google under MD Race Chip netted nothing. What's the company name? You say the website is down, so you obviously know what it is. Please enlighten us. :-)

The 240, 260, and 300 Z cars are kicking our butts down here in the Southwest Division.

Here's the addy I had that worked a year or so ago. http://www.mdrace.com/ I've heard there chip works but they are a pain to deal with and get a hold of. I've also heard they've sold out to Superchips. I've never dealt with them so i can't confirm either.

I may be wrong in commenting here as I still have an uncompleted ITS RX-7, but isn't the aftermarket chip illegal in ITS? Again, I'm just babbling....

good question, Mike. It was until just recently. I think, starting with the 2001 season, computer modifications are allowed provided they fit in the original case and are in the original location. something like that. So, aftermarket chips and remapping are allowed.

Good news for fuel injected car, bad new for those pesky Z-cars (at least the 240's and 260's )

Yea, looks like the website is under construction. The phone number is 954-720-7989.

There is also the JET Chip option at $400 but I have not heard any feedback about them.
