OK, guys.....opinions needed.

I currently have Tokiko Illuminas on my 1st Gen RX-7. I'm considering a change in spring rates as recomendations have gotten stiffer since I built the car. I'm concerned that I will be over springing the dampers.

So, what do you guys think the Illuminas can handle spring wise front and rear, and second, what alternatives are out there?

Of course, I know that I can spend many thousands per set, but I'm afraid the car isn't worth it, and my wallet can't go there anyway!

That said, I've never gotten that "precision engineering" feeling from the Tokikos either. Is there a middle ground? An double adjustable point of diminishing returns middle ground?

How about the Advance Design shocks? Pricey?

Thanks in advance for your time...

Speaking to the Tokico engineers (or reps, whatever they are), they say the illuminas are challanged with 300# springs and are underdamped (especially in rebound) at 350# or more...

Which brings up a different thread--what is the interpretation of "any strut"???
