The thermal bypass in the oil cooler just has me paranoid. Something about Murphy here. Is there a simple way to force the cooler to circulate? I have the cooler out for cleaning and pulled the thermostat out. I took the big spring out from under the plunger and put it on top to force it to stay down. The cooler circulated well in the parts cleaner but I'm not convinced of it being a wise fix. Anyone tackled this one?

Completely remove the wax bulb assembly and close the hole with a cap screw. I used one with a metal lock nut, these are the ones with a square indentation in the side of the nut. They have a thread error that mechanically serves to lock the nut to the screw.

DUH. Never thought of a screw and a nut. I was thinking sheet metal screw but wasn't happy with that idea. Thanks alot! http://Forums.ImprovedTouring.com/it/smile.gif
