Should be just as good as the 90-93 car...and that car is one of the TOP cars in the class...

I think it will be a great ITA car eventually. People just need to start building and developing them. I know Anthony Serra has put one together and he's already quite up to speed in it. Tubs should be pretty cheap to get, aftermarket support will rival anything else on the planet, and it'll have that good old Honda reliability. http://ITForum.ImprovedTouring.com/smile.gif

If that generation had been approved - or if it had looked like it was going to be approved - I would have one of these rather than the Golf.

Kirk, it has been approved. I've got the GCR right here: "Acura Integra GS/LS/RS (3-door) (94-99)" is listed in ITA. The engine and brake specs are exactly the same as the '90-93 Integra's. The '94-99's seem to have a 0.8" longer wheelbase and slightly better gear ratios though. But it's also got an additional 75lbs (2555 vs 2480).

Any idea what HP the non vtec B18 can make?? Can the HP / lbs get to the same #'s the CRX has ??? Great chassis from what I could tell in Speedvision touring a few years back

oh and anybody have any idea what you can get this car down to weight wise ???

I don't think you'd have much trouble getting that car down to weight.

As for what kind of power the engine can make, it should be able to make at least the same power the '90-93's make.

I think the late Integra has the potential to beat the CRX on larger tracks, but the jury is out on if it can beat it on short tracks where the CRX seems to be king (that extra +400Lb problem). Thoughts?

BTW, I just imported a 90 CRX VT from the UK. It has the factory B16A1 VTEC with Integra brakes & ABS. Wow! this is the CRX that we should have had over here on this side of the pond. 160hp at 2150lbs. 0-60 in 6.8 and top speed of 140mph. Very fun car to drive. Integra killer indeed...

I know people dont want to reveal HP #'s but any theroies on HP from this motor ( fully developed w/ Hondata etc. ) I have been told CRX's can make 120 - 130 to the wheels so the bigger B18 needs to put out alot to overcome weight?

Also I have no experience w/ Honda Acura products so I have no idea what kind of weight can be removed ( in lbs. ) with legal IT gutting.. I would need the base car down around 2300 before me and gas, can this be done???

Again, getting it down to weight shouldn't be too much of a problem. My '92 Integra weighs in around 2250lbs without driver, about 3/8 tank of gas, and a stout roll cage. The '94-00's shouldn't be much different.

I'd say that ~125whp for the CRX's would be a pretty good engine. ~145whp is attainable from the '90-93 Integra's. I wouldn't be surprised to see ~145-150whp from the '94-00 Integra's solely on the fact that the head flows just a touch better.

Of course, I've heard people claim higher whp numbers than any of those I just said. I don't know how valid they are. The numbers I gave I can say are honestly attainable.

the 94 and newer intake is different than the earlier cars. this is making it harder to attain the same hp/torque#'s

Any opinions on headers, shocks, and ecu's.

OPM makes a great header...slightly better than DC Sports, Hondata ECU and call Ground Control as they have all the set up specs for your car...good luck!!

Getting it down to weight won't be a problem. I've got one of the VTEC variants of this car and with me in it it's sitting right at the ITA weight. For ITS I'd have to add about 100lbs of ballast.

If you're looking to build a no-excuses 94-95 Integra, look at headers from outfits like OPM, SMSP, Toda and Hytech. High dollar but they make more power than the rest.

I think Scott Seck is on here some...he's got an ITS Integra with a trick set of inverted Konis on it. Suspension setup is pretty well established for this platform...dig around in the Road Racing/Autocross section of honda-tech.com and you'll find some good stuff.

Personally I think it'll be a horse of an ITA car.

I know that it's approved NOW. It was not however when I made the decision to go with the MkIII Golf in B. One priority for me was that the car not be more than one generation old when I started it but this Integra was destined for ITS orphanhood at the time.

Let's hear it for the new-and-improved ITA!

I had a perfect candidate...1994 no sunroof...i wrote SCCA and got back that the car has different suspension and is classified properly in ITS. I sold that car and bought a 1992...oh well...i am happy with my car but it would have been easier to just build the one i had. it is easier to get parts for the newer one as well not to mention it has a better tranny...
