OK. So we had been using the Bisimoto header while running Honda Challenge. The header is the best header we've ever had on the car. The top end power is amazing.

The problem comes in here, we are now running in ITA as well, so the power steering had to be put back into the car, now the header doesn't fit.
We contacted Bisi regarding this, & basically unless we have enough "interest" (ie more people willing to buy one as well) he won't re-design one that will clearance the ps as in the past "there has been no market for it."

So if you would be interested please please contact him to display interest. Obviously we wouldn't go through all this trouble if we didn't REALLY think that his header is the best thing period for the d-series.

His site: http://www.bisimoto.com (you can see the header there & use the contact us on his site)

Also check out: http://www.hadamotorsport.com/tech/review/dsemc/

our personal dyno results (on our OPM IT-legal engine & our bone stock engine both showed similar/amazing gains) & the car (although loud) sounds amazing w/ this header....lap times (on track) also decreased after using this header.
("street version" is one referring to not "race version" as "race version" uses a megaphone sytle exit thats really only applicable for drag racers & would require extensive modification for using w/ exhaust piping/muffler/etc.)

(retails for appx $589, see http://www.exospeed.com for more pics/pricing)

thanks!

I believe you can run ITA without p/s as long as you remove all the components...

zracre, I think you are wrong on this. GCR doesn't say you can remove the p/s. So, if it doesn't say you can, then you can not.

**Know zilch about Hondas***

... but if the same model was available w/o PS, then you "bloody well can" as long as you change every componant to match the nonP/S car.

Correct but unfortunately, all 92-95 SI/EX came with p/s and that is the reason Lyonel is trying to gather enough interest for BISI to redesign their header. Trust me, if you could remove the p/s pump, you would get some free hp too http://ITForum.ImprovedTouring.com/smile.gif

Can you send your header to Tom Blaney? He is doing some header tests on an ITA engine soon.

I just received these headers from Dave to test with my "Bullet Proof Racing Engines" D16A6 CRX/Si (both in ITA and GTLite configuration). The are quite well build and look like he took the time to manufacture them correctly.

I expect to have test results compared to the Puckett in a few days.

We are very interested to see how it does (also saw threads on H-T regarding new D-series header).

Have you checked with AN-R? I suppose there's a chance that theirs might fit with the PS. I have seen pretty similar outstanding numbers on Honda's from Bisi and AN-R.

Wouldn't hurt to ask: www.an-r.com (http://www.an-r.com)

I finished testing the SMS Products headers last night, we are very pleased with the results and had a major improvement in torque in the 5000-6000 rpm range about 6% gain. The horsepower increase numbers were about 2% but we weren't expecting too much more in the hp range. We did like the fact that the torque band also became more friendly.

So I give a thumbs up to the headers and they will the header of choice for all Bullet Proof Engines.

Tom,

Thanks for doing the test. Without giving away any of Tom's numbers, this is what I got from the dyno graph.

At 4100 rpm my header hit "X" torque, then climbed to the engine's peak torque and dropped back down to "X" torque at 6300 rpm. The OPM header got to "X" torque at 4475 rpm, then climbed to the engine's peak torque and dropped back down to "X" torque at 6225 rpm. As Tom stated above my torque peak was about 6% more than the OPM header.

So my header made "X" torque or more from 4100-6300 rpms (a 2200 rpm range), while the OPM header made "X" torque or more from 4475-6225 rpms (a 1750 rpm range).
