hello,

seeing that the 92-95 Civic EX will soon be an ITA car I have a rules question regarding pistons. I have skimmed over the GCR but am still confused.

If the 92-95 Civic EX is on it's own line (I assume it will be and not grouped with the 96-98 Civic EX) what are my choice for pistons in the honda lineup that I can use besides the stock ones?

Can I use the d16a6 pistons that are in the 89-91 Civics that are in ITA? Can I use the d16y8 pistons from the 96-98 Civic EX?

Just trying to get as much compression out of pistons as I can before milling the head and block is the goal. Let me know. I know there's a bunch of rules nerds out there.

If the car is infact classified on one line as "92-95 Honda Civic EX" then you can only run the d16z6 pistons because that is the only engine/pistons that ever came in that car. The update/backdate rule only applies to parts within what is listed on your specific classification line in the GCR.

Steve-

Not only can you ONLY use the P28 (D16Z6) pistons, but you can not mill the head more than 0.025" or to result in more than 0.5 points increase in compression.

I think stock compression is like 9.1 to 1 (Someone check me on this), so max. will be 9.6 to 1.

Calculated compression for a stock D16Z6 is ~9.13. The GCR and Honda have it listed as 9.2.
