hp rating

I'm looking for the published factory hp rating for the 86-87 CRX Si's. It would be helpful to know if it is rated at the wheels or at the flywheel. This is for a study on IT HP increases over stock.

Typically all manufacturers always print HP at the crank, not the wheels. From a sales standpoint, crank HP always sounds nicer than wheel HP, except if its an SRT-4 in which case it dynos higher than its rated from the factory at the crank.

If memory serves...I believe it was rated at 91hp (at the crank). Granted, they always seemed to be strong horses(but Hondas usually seem to be that way), but I think that is all they were rated for.

BTW, I still think the '86 JDM spec engine on that list I sent you would be really cool in a race car! Too bad the rules nerds would have issues with it LOL...
