Hello everyone. My name is Frank Vest. I just recently found out about Improved Touring. I am big into Hondas, and really wanting to get started. I think I have been to about every web site to look around, last weekend I attended an event put on by, I know...NASA, and really fell in love with it all. The honda-challenge is what brought me there. I need help getting started. I have a 94 civic EX (2 door similar to the one in Sept. 2003 Grassroots Mag) SOHC Vtec, is this a good car to work with, what would be, where should I start. Are there any web pages I should check out? What works best as far as suspension? Brakes? Engine? I learned last weekend, you start with Safty, end with Engine mods. I have a basic understanding of the class's, but not to sure. Im sure there are many others out there with the same questions, please let me know!

Visit www.honda-tech.com (http://www.honda-tech.com).

Always some kind of info in the Racing section of the forum. Do a search through the archives before you ask about racing because your question has been answered many times there.

If you don't find anything, there are a good many people there who will give you some kind of advice.

Your best bet is to get connected with someone who is running a car or in a class that you are interested in. You will learn a TON helping out at the track and I don't know of anyone who would turn down the offer of assistance. There are so many things to know - that you SHOULD know before you decide to go racing - that a year or two of hanging out can save you a ton of money and headaches. Start by going to www.scca.org (http://www.scca.org) to get basic information - schedules, track locations, and the like...

If you haven't already discovered it, take a look at the road racing forum at www.honda-tech.com (http://www.honda-tech.com) as well.

Have fun!

Welcome! I've got a 94 EX that I run in ITS out of the Central Division (Ohio Valley Region). Where are you located? I'd be happy to tell you all about my setup. You can email me at: [email protected]

I'll be mostly off-line for the next week or two, but I'll respond as soon as I get a chance. Take a look around the site. You will find a ton of valuable information here.

thanks. I am currently located in NC, on the coast, Jacksonville to be exact. I am in the Marine Corps. In just a little over a year I will be moving back to Northern Indiana. I plan on racing then. I am taking the others advice on researching the sport for a year and then get into it.

I would love to hear about your car. Thanks
My work email address is
[email protected] thats the best place to reach me.
