Anyone got good info and contact numbers on what final drive to get for 90 crx?----OPM,KAAZ etc.?---4.6 --4.7 something. We run the midwest tracks--but I am more concerned with a final drive that works well at Road America--Road Atlanta.Or is the 4.6 to 4.7 span not that much of a difference?

As an aside, I always thought 4.9:1 was the hot setup for CRX's, but I am coming to realize that 4.7:1 is the only commonly available "size".... is that correct?

Back years ago when custom final drives were still pretty new, I knew a guy who had a 4.9 but said it was buzzing the hell out of his engine. He quickly switched to the 4.7 that mnost of the rest of us ran soon thereafter. I was always happy with the 4.7 at midwestern tracks so that is what I got for the EP/FP car.

Mr. Volante-
I use the 4.73 final drive. I know that Dave Beyersdorf (nee King car), has a 4.73 final and owns the Lap record at RA.
I challenged him on his ratio not long ago and when he told me he set the track record there with the 4.73 and I verified that, I dropped the topic.
I use a Quaife (dealer), and the 4.73, OPM motorsports has the gears for 1000.00 right now. I just ordered one for a 89 crx si that is in my shop currently getting those two items.
I hope this helps dispell the myth of the ratio rational...it will work good at Blackhawk where you like to run as well.

I talked to Anthony in New York-He has the 4.73 that he pretty much started(OPM gets there's from him)I can send him my tranny and he will correctly install the gear, check everything else on it and send it back for about 1000 bucks, give or take.
