Ok, I am looking for recommendations on what type of exhaust setup works well on ITA civic/crx's. I just finished putting my motor back in an ITA prepped 88 CRX Si and before I take the car to the muffler shop, I'd like to hear what has worked well for others. The motor is stock other than AEM CAI and a cheap chikara 4-2-1 header (I got it for free). Should I use 2.25" or 2.5" piping? Use a muffler, cat, resonator? I remember reading someones setup a couple months back and they chopped the header at the collector and had a 2.5" collector welded on. Then they used a small piece of flex piping attached to a 2.5" dynomax race muffler that ended just behind the driver seat. This is the setup I am leaning towards, but I'm a little skeptical on chopping off the collector.

Thanks Tyson, I should have searched before posting!

Just a thought, What advantage is a 2.25-2.5" pipe if your header collector is only 2". theroetically the exhaust will be only as good as the section with the smallest diameter. And besides a 2" exhaust would be cheaper!

I wish I were able to give an intelligent answer, but I can't! I would assume that although the collector may only be 2", expanding it to 2.25-2.5" would increase the power, but I cannot confirm this.
