I have an aftermarket fuel regulator and everytime the gas tank is
more than 1/3 full there is a strong odor of gasoline emitting from
under the hood. I checked it and the smell is coming from the shiny
purple fuel regulator. I know nothing about this area of the rex. can
someone help me out? thanks

Not good. If you don't have a reason (engine mods) for running an aftermarket regulator, then remove it. Be safe and not sorry. ...but is sounds like it's the regulator unit itself.

dude. the old owner installed the greddy exhaust on the car and when he did he bent a piece on the gas tank so the pipe wouldnt rub on it. well, as it turns out the gas tank has a crack in it where he bent it and today it was trickling out. i was scared to death my car was gonna blow up. now im at half tank and yesterday i had a full tank. it stopped leaking now. tomorrow im gonna put the JB weld on it. As far as the engine goes the rex has a B16 w/ Type R pistons compression 11:0:1 . STR cam gears, pulleys, lightened flywheel, MSD Ignition, MSD Distributor, Magnecor Wires, NGK Spark Plugs. thanks for your input. I like this board a whole lot better than the crappy yahoo one.
