I have a race car that has a remote mounted oil filter, the current filter is a "MAHLE OC 264" as near as I can tell it is an OEM VW or AUDI part. I've done some searches and came up empty. Can anyone tell me what this filter application is? It appears to be very good quality, I'd like to purchase a few of the same filters.

Thanks!

If you are using a remote adapter, can you use a "racing" filter (a la Fram), with no bypass?

mahle 0C264 is VW/Audi 034 115 561A, OBDII golf/jetta, audi 5&6cyl up to 95.

Well now that you mention that I see a very similar p/n on the bottom of the box it says "Vergleichstypen 061a115561B" What do you show that this VW/AUDI part number corsses to in a MAHLE? What AUDI/VW application?

Thanks for the advice K, the standard HP1 type was going to be an alternate choice, if I hit a dead end.

The closest AUDI dealer to me is over 30 miles away, I do have a VW dealership less than 10 minutes away...maybe they'll have a helpful parts guy. I hate going to buy race car parts without a specific application when the parts guy can't do anything but look up a part number in the computer. Probably hate that just about as much as they hate people coming in with a widget and no idea what it belongs to. Every once in a while you get a parts guy/gal who likes a challenge or who has been around long enough to tell from 5 feet away what it is for.

06A-115-561-B is German-made and replaces 034-115-561-A
Both are for 4cyl. 95 and UP
94 and down calls for
056-115-561-G
VWoA Still has 034's in their system but since the supersession occured a couple of years ago so I would asssume most dealers will only stock the 06A

actually, both 06A and 034 part numbers are current, active numbers. 06A is for Golf/Jetta IV all 4cyl gas, and Audi 1.8turbo. 034 is for 12V V6 audi. Both numbers revert to the same Mahle, Kneckt, and Mann filters. If you want a perceived better filter, use the 078 115 561, 30V V6 filter, available at VW and Audi ($15), but in my opinion, a Rabbit oil filter would suffice. These aren't Lamborginis

Thanks for all the info. Now that I know what the application is I will be using NAPA Golds/WIX filters once I run out of these OEM and MAHLE filters.

It may not be a LAMBO but I still want to use a good filter and a good oil. Change it often, might not be neccessary but it is good insurance.

The race motor is aircooled for goodness' sake runs without a fan too!
