The 2.0l beetle has been added to ITC for next year according to the September fastrack anyone think this could be a good car to run?

I may be WAY off....but wouldn't this car become a class killer? Unless it is spec'd with a high curb weight. I would think this would be a B car all the way (I have not seen anything on this except for this posting)

Since that is going there, what about the rest of the 99-2000 VWs....

Seems like an obvious overdog to me. Stronger motor and better suspension than the A3 2.0 and much larger brakes. Seems like a B car if they give it the right weight.

It might just be too fat to get to the weight the ITAC thinks it needs to be at in B. Even at that, I'm thinking it might be a "destabilizing influence."

Anyone want to write to have the MkIV Golf listed?

Curb weight on a '99 NB GL is 2769#. Given Darin's ITB weight of 2450#, I don't think it's that unachievable. Golf III went from 2500#, w/o driver, in SSC to 2350# w/ driver in IT trim, a 330# change.

Kirk, I don't see how they could class the Golf IV anywhere but ITC, if the NB is going to be there. After all, it's the same chassis w/ different bodywork, similar to the Rabbit/Scirocco, or the Golf/Jetta.
