What kinda seats are you guys running in your MK1 Sciroccos? I need to pick up a little head room over stock and think the reinforcing beam may be in my way when I mount my seat. I haven't bought anything yet and was looking for comments. I am about 6' tall which isn't bad except I think I am a little big in the body and lacking in the legs!!

Let me know your opinions.

I use an aluminum Butler built style seat in my ITC Scirocco, and I relieved the cross brace on the floor to do so. It's legal to
modify it to mount the seat.

In my GP car, I use a Sparco seat with the side mount brackets and have no problem with the cross brace. The front of the seat rests on it, so I didn't have to modify anything to make it fit. I'm only 5'8", and I probably sit closer to the pedals than you.

I'd recommend a layback type seat to get a little more headroom, if you can still reach the steering wheel comfortably.

I use an aluminum seat with a layback also.
I'm 5-10" and the car doesn't have a head liner and I fit without a problem.

Mark,
could you e-mail me at [email protected]?
I have some questions you might be able to help me with if your willing.

Thanks, Drew
