Car numbers? Newguy

Hello,

I am just starting out. I am curious how you select a number for the car. I understand that regional classes don't have reserved numbers so you have to sign up early for events and hope to get your number. But what if you don't? If you have vinyl numbers do you just duct tape over them?

Just trying to figure out how it works.

Some region's have perm numbers for their different run groups. Check your local region to see if they have a list. In San Francisco, you have to run 4 races the prior year to reserve your number for the next year.

Normally, it's the first one entered that get's the number, unless the perm number entry is entered. Get some magnet numbers and or decent color tape just in case you need to change a 5 to a 6, or a 0 to an 8.
