Is it necessary to run a passenger seat/window net while doing the SCCA schools?

You will have to run a window net on the driver's side. And George, your FA example is irrelevant. T and SS cars are _required_ to run pass. seats.

Anthony, to answer your question, I believe the car has to meet the requirements for the class it is logbooked as. So, if it's an n n IT, car, no pass. seat required. If it's a T or SS car, you'll need the pass. seat.

Nope, just has to meet the safety requirments of the class. Make sure your car is safe and worry about the class specific stuff later. Annual Tech is for safety not legality.

You missed the point Bill. Or perhaps I misunderstood.

My point was that you don't carry a passenger as you would in DE. Also, since this is an IT board, I wouldn't expect a SS or T question here.

I'm assuming the person who asked the question had expectation of a ride along instructor as in DE. If not why would passenger window net even be thought of?

Not sure if this is Raymond or Stephen, but have you ever had the tech inspector look for your fuel test port during your annual?

sure bill but i have never seen a car excluded from a school far anything that was not safety related. i would expect a fix by next race notation.

That was Stephen before, but he is in Ohio with dad at the Runoffs... 44 AS cars... that should be a high powered "IT" race for sure. But back on the subject... I will respond for him.

Yes we have had our fuel ports checked http://Forum.ImprovedTouring.com/it/wink.gif actually at Annual tech as well as at an "impound all."

As far as schools go I think that it should be noted for newbies that they should check with how much of a stickler the region is about it. I would expect that in the Northeast where we love all (in schools) you could bring a safe illigal car, afterall we are not racing, we are just proving we can race safely. I am sure though that someone will point out the issues so that it could be fixed before the first RACE.

If a safety risk is at hand by the illigality then that is a whole other ballgame...

I know, I know, I should mind my own business and stay out of this one, but...

I can see a potential arguement that a fuel test port COULD be a safety issue. I have seen a few that I would not want to pull a sample from. http://Forum.ImprovedTouring.com/it/smile.gif
