Yes, its true! Check out the details at:

I had an ex-Honda/Michelin Series Civic, way back. Many of them found there way into Improved Touring. Now, I've got to get me one of those new ones...

It might be the saddest that I've ever been but I just missed a chance to drive the HM media car at the one and only race that they held at Seattle Int'l Raceway (now Pacific Raceways). I could have had it if I was willing to lie, which was part of my formative experience about "professional" racing...

This is a REALLY cool series and, in a way, I'm really glad that I don't live in the NE right now: I'd be PO'd beyond belief when they announce that these cars cost US$12,000, having committed to the GTI this fall...

And I, having just accepted delivery of a Miata this weekend. Dang!

Well, I can always flip the Mazda...

Or my new IT car. Not that it cost that much, but I would've had that much had I not bought the IT car.

Is there a schedule posted anywhere?

I remember watching these cars many years ago at the now "ghost track" Westwood Raceway. The one thing that sticks out most is the IRRITATING sound that 30 of these things all racing at the same time made! Give me a Mazda ANY day over that! Looked like really good racing, however...

I also remember one of them, sitting in the pits in the summer sun, with no one around, having a side window just pop-out spontaneously, and shattering all over the side of a new Jaguar sitting next to it! http://Forums.ImprovedTouring.com/it/eek.gif

Anyone looked into how well the rules for this class align with current IT rules???

They surely won't align with the IT rules, but will probably be close to the SS rules. Not sure if a trunk kit will be available. The price tag has been rumoured at around $14-15k cdn (about $10-11k US).

I guess this feeds more ammunition towards the spec series. I live on the eastern Canadian coast and I bet for sure the series won't come this way. I would also bet that all the cars available will be sold quickly!

I was leaning toward the idea of them eventually transitioning into IT once they are finished with their spec series... So long as their rules don't take them too far, then that's a good thing for future considerations...
