Congrats! I've been reading a geometry book, a Fabrication book, Smiths "... To Win" books and Jim Suskos RX7 book to my 7 month old son "Izzy". I also read to him from this site on occasion.

Didn't want to get into the GCR as I didn't want to confuse him and give him nightmares.

Wait a minute... maybe some of the rules would make sence to him and he could explain them to me when he's older!

Start them out young! The custom cage shop that I'm starting will hopefully be his someday. Hell, it's already got his name on it.

What did I tell you about that? I have to say I'm a bit disappointed in you...his first words are supposed to be HONDA. You're just confusing him here with that MR2 toy.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know, who usually beats who? (I have some other pics of Ben to give you; I'll work on getting a suitable Honda car toy)

Hey! Congrats Jake. He will be eligible for IT in the year 2019. By then there will be classes like IT SUV's or spec Hummer....and the folks on this forum will be bickering about why the Ford Excursion is in A and the Chevy Suburban is in S and why the Mercedes is too much SUV for A but not enough for S, the BMW X-5 is the new class killer and needs some weight added and why the Porche Cayenne does not meet the IT class philosophy. By then there will be some good cheap Pathfinders and 4 Runners to go run in C or maybe by then the SCCA will have a bulletproof formula that is public knowledge for classifying vehicles. One thing for sure is he will have a place to race. Benjamin has a lot to look forward to. http://Forums.ImprovedTouring.com/it/smile.gif

Congradulations. A fine looking man child! I agree with ddewhurst..... the grow up fast. Spend as much time as you possibly can with your wife and son. If you don't one day you will turn around and they will be gone and you will say..."If only I had spent more time with my children and my wife. All the things we missed."

Live large and enjoy every minute of fatherhood. It truly the best thing going bar none.

My Children are 30 and 33. We are making up for lost time when I was too busy to be with them because of work, the job or other interests. I am having a great time now but I sure missed a lot.

Drive well.

My son is slightly over 2 yrs old now. I can't believe how quickly those 2 years went.

He walks into a room now and yells "Daddy Race!" and "Go, go, Dad!" Makes me proud.

Then again, he also always says that Dick crashed into me. I think he has been watching too much NASCAR.

My wife doesn't like the fact that I keep mistakenly refering to burping Ben as "bleeding" him.

I forwarded this posting to my wife; she enjoyed knowing that some of us racers have a sentimental side. Congrats!

Congrats!!!

I was one of those SCCA babies as my earliest memories are rolling down the hills at a much changed Lime Rock, and playing in old concreate buildings that would now be under turn 2 at NHIS. Some think I turned out ok so don't be afraid to bring him to the track!!!

Make sure you get Benjamin added to your membership now so that he can pull SCCA Rank # later in life http://Forums.ImprovedTouring.com/it/smile.gif Oh and don't ever sell any of your race cars, save them for him... My father let my brother and I "use" his ITA MR2 untill my brother destroyed it http://Forums.ImprovedTouring.com/it/frown.gif

Anyway congrats again http://Forums.ImprovedTouring.com/it/smile.gif

Eric,

Oh yeah. VERY thick English accent. He's a great kid in a great family and very low key, in typical British fashion. But an absolute bullet on the track.

I've seen Sam race several times, and he is lightning fast--like going from 17th to 7th on the first lap.

I can see the post-race interview now: "We kept a stif upper lip and managed to muddle through to victory. That's all for now, I'm off for some fish and chips."

My wife hates that whenever my 3 year old son burps or passes gas, he and I refer to it as "good compression."

Congrats Jake! I am sure you will enjoy being a Dad as much as I do. Just don't make the mistake I did and let the little one drive the race car... see the results at www.lisagardner.com/author (http://www.lisagardner.com/author)
