Funny, my homework was never quite like this...

(Age specific references could be worse - we could be quoting "School's Out" by Mr. Cooper)

Oh yeah....I'm so old I can't recall the next line. But at least I know who it is and what VH is supposed to sound like.

Not old enough to know if the original IT rules allowed one to remove the 8 track?

So what year was Mr.Cooper's Schools out for summer released? Who'd name their son Alice?

** So what year was Mr.Cooper's Schools out for summer released? **

Um, '72 or '73 I think.

I was in junior high then, and remember hearing it on the school bus radio.

Wow, it's that old? http://Forums.ImprovedTouring.com/it/smile.gif I wasn't even born yet! And here I am listening to it in the 80's thinking it was brand spanking new! LOL... time does fly. Like today at Moroso talking to a new competitor who has a faster car than mine, and I'm talking about the "old" configuration, back when I went to driver's school in 92... yikes! I still remember that weekend, but most of them in-between are just a blur of motors whining.

Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled discussions...

Yeah, believe it or not, this is one of them. Although I don't post too much here, as my views are not in line with a lot of other's here, and I really don't want to get into a heater core discussion every other week.... (one of the reasons CC is great. If you don't search, you are banished!) I do post a bit in the Ford section, but keep other opinions to myself, unless I'm just in one of my moods http://Forums.ImprovedTouring.com/it/smile.gif !

Quickshoe - the next line is "Got it bad, got it bad, got it bad, I'm hot for teacher." Anybody remember the car in the video? As for the illustrious Mr.Cooper, golf playing fool that he is now - I was in fifth or sixth grade when that came out as I recall... memory fading... must get help....

The song came out in 1972, the same year he changed his name from Vincent Damon Furnier. The "got it bad" comes from a Van Halen(?) song.

In IE 4.0 or better, go to "Tools > Internet Options" and click on the "Rant" tab. Set "Send standard pissing and moaning?" to "Enable," and do the same for "Always replace profanity with %@#$&?"

You can also go into "Advanced" in that same dialog box, and set your PITA to "Maximum," set "Sour grapes" to "Yes," and move the "I told you so" default to a six or higher - this last one is memory dependent.

Kirk- that is your best post ever. Ok, maybe not ever, but pretty funny.

OK, so what the %^#&$%^$ is going on here?
(On edit, it appears Kirks IE settings DO work!)

Are there power outages in IT.com-land???

Are we in need of $$??

Where do I send the check?? (If this is the root of the problem, then let's just say so!)

To whomever is the wizard behind the curtain running this joint, thanks for the great site, we all love it, and I'm sure we want to do whatever it takes to keep it going.

Now stop that ranting Amy! (I see you fired off another about trailers!...I once took mine to the top and was in a crowd of.....one!)

It appears this thread is where all of the addicts go when the web site comes back to life. Perhaps this is part of some sort of bizzare twelve step program or something.

I can just see the meetings now - "Hi there, my name is Rob, and I'm a racer."

OK, so what the %^#&$%^$ is going on here?

Seems to be an ongoing problem with the box hosting the forums. Notice that the main site shows up, but the forums don't? They're on separate servers. They are, however, both on the network of "Atlanta Internet Consulting".

I suspect they're having hardware or operating system problems with that box.

thanks for the great site, we all love it, and I'm sure we want to do whatever it takes to keep it going.

Ditto. If the banner ads ain't covering the bill, let us know.

Hey, I didn't rant until AFTER it came back up this time! Was this a "pre-emptive SHOOSH"?

Yeah, we caught that. Someone masquerading.

Gregg

CaptainWho
06-29-2004, 12:19 PM
The masquerading is a common tactic among spam and more recent viruses/trojans/etc. They'll scan your address book, and sometimes your entire hard drive, looking for email addresses, then use them both as targets and to spoof the "From" address in the email.

One note of caution. If you post anything for sale on this site you WILL get bogus inquiries from shisters that will contain virusus. And they keep coming for a few months after you post.

Maybe they're after me because I told some of them to go to hell.

I just wish there was a way to catch these low lifes or bomb them back so they feel the hassle of their own mischief.
