OK guys... let's wake the forum up! There is a Double Regional at Bremerton Raceway Park on July 31-Aug 1 and I'd like a big run group (aside from the 20 SMs that always seem to show up!)...

The course is a 1.1 mile airport track that I've been told is a lot of fun to run. It has a long straight and is FLAT! Here is a link to the track information:

Bremerton Raceway Park Track Info (http://www.nwr-scca.org/race/bremerto.htm)

In addition, there is a "race cars of history" show, and the weekend includes a Solo 1 event on both days...

So, if you are tired of running the same old track... pack up the RV and head North for a weekend!

I'll be running both ITS and RS and I hope to see you there!! Please stop by and say HI! My car shouldn't be too hard to spot... http://Forum.ImprovedTouring.com/it/wink.gif

Take care,

Darin,
It was great meeting you at Bremerton, had a blast doing my first novice races. I'm looking forward to getting the RX-7 in better shape, may have something for you in a couple of years. Thanks for all the advice, hope to see you at the track again soon.

No Problem... Always like to try to help! You and Jason have a nice deal going, and you are working with one of the cars to have in ITS... Get that thing lowered and it'll suprise you... and make me work a LOT harder in the process!

Just for the rest of you, here is an example of what you missed... as well as what a person has to deal with to be friends with Harlan! http://Forum.ImprovedTouring.com/it/wink.gif

Enjoy!

Man, this looks like a very large auto-x course. Those tire "pallets" look VERY scary at those speeds.

Haha Tim, I had to really tug on the lap belt to go fast there. I will say I had a blast on this track and I will go again. the backside is is very fast and twisty and with the correct gears could be a real hoot. This is the roots of where SCCA started and it was quite an experience for a country club racer like me. Yes I still love dedicated race tracks but running on old airports and place like this is a lot of fun. I wish we could find more places like this to race along with our best tracks.

Haha give a guy a little push on the front straight and you would think I hit you with a B52.... http://Forum.ImprovedTouring.com/it/smile.gif Bumpers and friends now thats priceless

We , (SFR) used to run @ Crows Landing, an ex WWII landing base out in the valley, north of Los Banos. Wide open run-ways and taxi ways. They even had a POOL to relax in after it was all over.

The problem was tire wear. You'd go through a set in 1/2 hour. The concrete was real rough. We had an IT Festival about 10 years ago for Halloween. Oops, my match sucks, it was 1992, so that would be 12 years.

Yes, your right about the "grass roots" start with SCCA running on airports and country fair's, but just remember that they required leather helmets, lap belts, and t-shirts for safety.
