Let me start out by saying, WOW! These guys put on one hell of a show, even if my stay was shortened. I didn't stay the entire weekend because I wanted to race IRP in 2 weeks. My overall opinion is that the track is really fast and really smooth. It has some areas where it will scream "GOTCHA!" in a few corners, but I really really like this track. I have only been on 2, but I have seen a few others.

Anyhow, I really had a great instructor and had a great time even though it rained the first 2 sessions and was cold and windy the rest.

If you want a detailed report check out my website for more info and a few pictures.

Jeremy:

Congratulations on a succesful school! I can honestly say that, other than the fact that you were in an Escort, I never noticed you! From the instructor standpoint, that was a good thing!

Who were you? I don't recall seeing you, but dont' take that as an insult, as I was a lil busy. I saw a few pics on your website, and Tony did mention the ITA Saturns.

Let me ask you this. Did you enjoy my race with the "Salmon" Miata?

WHAT!!! YOU DON'T KNOW WHO I AM?!?!?!? http://ITForum.ImprovedTouring.com/biggrin.gif http://ITForum.ImprovedTouring.com/biggrin.gif http://ITForum.ImprovedTouring.com/biggrin.gif

I was instructing 2 Spec Miatas (96 Blue and Yellow and 46 Blue and white). I saw you out there with your Escort and had flashbacks to my old escort. Plus, we were all commenting on the one-wheel-peel you had going on coming through some of the corners.

To be honest, I'm sure all the instructors made comments during the races, but I was pretty focused on my drivers. It was my first time instructing, so I wanted to make sure I did a good job and covered what wasn't covered when I went through it.

I'm sure Tony probably mentioned the ITA Saturns as he passed me (I had the dark blue Saturn during the instructor drive arounds). With the leather seats and only 3-pt stock seat belts, there really was no point in trying to hustle (like Tony) around the track...

Ok, so I hope everyone played safe at school, received their Novice license & had Fun. Then I hope you all took your Novice license & raced on Sunday. Will someone please post the Sunday Q & R results. Nothing on mylaps.com & nothing on the Milwaukee Region site. That's the typical communication from these places.

Have Fun http://ITForum.ImprovedTouring.com/wink.gif

David:

I'm sure the region will happily accept your offer to help get the results posted to the website in a timely fashion. Just e-mail the RE (Julie Kemp, I believe) and I'm sure she'll point you in the correct direction.

Bill, I attempted to take part within the Milwaukee Region with the open Comp rules meeting. Jim D. & a couple other traditional Milwaukee Region board members suggested that maybe I hadn't been around the SCCA long enough to be making suggestions.

Oh, please excuse me from trying to provide factual info towards rules making & don't expect ANY support in the future were/are my thoughts.

David

ps: If they can't get the job finished in a timely fashion they shouldn't be in such a hurry to grabing the jobs. Can't be a big job with the transponders to send an e-mail to mylaps.com. I enjoy racing & would enjoy being part of the Region except that I don't play politics to be part of something/anything.

Milwaukee Region does have a link to the results but the link doesn't seem to be working correctly.

However, since this was a QUAD region event, a quick scan of the websites of the other three regions that hosted the event (Chicago, BVR, and ??LOL??) do have the results posted.

Bill, I agree with you......if David wants to whine about how long it takes for something to get done in a 100% volunteer organization, such as posting results on a web site, he sounds like a perfect candidate to get involved and volunteer for task http://ITForum.ImprovedTouring.com/smile.gif

In other words....lighten up David! Milwaukee region normally does do a very good job of posting the results in a timely manner. Your criticism is unfounded.

I was also an instructor that weekend. Tony blew by my silver Ford Taurus numerous times during the drive arounds. He did lobby the instructors on your behalf and we did keep an eye out for you. Like Planet 6 Bill, I saw nothing but positive things when you were on track. Great job!! I was working with the guy with the silver blue BMW who was paddocked just down from you, and I had the blue miata number 57 that was across the way from your spot. The students did a really nice job all weekend, especially considering the weather. Good luck the rest of the year. I run an ITA Crx si. You probably won't see me until the Blackhawk event in early July.

Great, so now I have to wait until July to get my towels! Good thing I wasn't planning on going to Blackhawk until then! http://ITForum.ImprovedTouring.com/biggrin.gif http://ITForum.ImprovedTouring.com/biggrin.gif http://ITForum.ImprovedTouring.com/biggrin.gif

I had to shorten my racing season just to afford the extra cost of your towels Bill http://ITForum.ImprovedTouring.com/smile.gif We are going to have both of our cars there too, assuming nothing goes wrong during the Council race at BFR in June..... How's the tranny on your car going? We had the tranny problems with my cousin's car. Her Crx got stuck in second during the test day at State Fair Park. Got it fixed, but couldn't run there this past weekend.

Just need to finish the front tow hook, put on the front body panels, and align it and I'm ready to go! Too bad my tow vehicle has decided to let me down now...

Geez Bill that sucks. Whats wrong with it? Were you planning on doing the Milw. Region Road America event b-4 Blackhawk in July?

The trans is dying. I have a spare, but it's one of the cases of "as long as the trans is out and I have access to the crank..." situations. Hopefully, after tonight, it won't matter anymore.

(edit to answer the next question) I was planning on it, but not so certain now. Depends on how the finances work out.
