So who's showing up for the Grattan double May 29th & 30th? I will be there in my new ITA Integra and my Dad will have an ITC Civic. I always look forward to the spring Grattan race - great people, great food, great racing, & a great track!

Hmmm, guess it'll be a lonely weekend.

Have fun and don't forget a rake http://Forum.ImprovedTouring.com/it/smile.gif

You notice a few changes to the track. They put grey colored sealer over all the cracks. They are fine in the dry but can be inconsistent if the track is damp/wet. The sealer is kinda nice in that it provides some useful reference points. It seemed like I had to adjust my turn-in point for the uphill ess onto the main straight. Musta used the wrong crack http://Forum.ImprovedTouring.com/it/smile.gif

All of the places that you could put an inside wheel in the dirt (Turn 2, and the series after the jump) are now paved. The line is the same, you just don't kick up anymore dirt/grass. We had several days of rain the week before the National last weekend and there were a couple of weepers that made things interesting (entrance and exit of turn 1, exit of turn 4). The weeper at 1 might cause the back end to step out suddenly without you expecting it. If you know it's coming you'll be fine and can keep your foot planted on the gas. You might find that you have to breath the throttle a bit in turn 4 to keep from pushing wide. If the ground dries out, you'll be fine.

There's another Grattan thread that died a few weeks ago. You won't be as lonely as you think. I guess I'll be in the same race group with your dad. Please ask him to have mercy on that poor RX-7 trying to keep up with the C cars.

Hi all-

I'm new to the Midwest Division but I'm planning to attend assuming I get my car back together. I'm originally from the SouthEast. Looking forward to racing however.

Hotel suggestions would be appreciated.

Another question...It says in the supps no dogs allowed but it said that for every track in the SouthEast and nobody ever cared. Can I get away with bringing my mascot?

Going to any races in Michigan. It would help if you brought someone to volunteer in t&s, restructuring going on in Michigan. Matter of fact not just timing and not just Michigan ALL WORKER COUNTS ARE DOWN ALL OVER AND FOR EVERY SPECIALTY. Double regionals awful rough on the workers.

Dave - Welcome to our part of the country! As far as bringing your dog, I don't think I'd tempt it without knowing for sure. I know some CenDiv tracks but others (like Mid Ohio) really don't want pets there. I'd say call one of the stewards and ask them directly. I'd think that if it's a well trained dog who's use to being around the track (cars, people, etc.) then I don't know why they'd care.

I can't wait - should be alot of fun!

So Greg, what you are saying is you whimpy National Guys didn't wear the grass out yet to start kicking up the dirt huh. I will see what I can do so we can have the dust ball behind us again. http://Forum.ImprovedTouring.com/it/smile.gif

Chris now has a unique hide away rake, we will give it a try...

Well, my crew chief just bailed on me for Friday's T/T day (something about getting the house ready for a house full of weekend guests http://Forum.ImprovedTouring.com/it/smile.gif ). Anybody going to be there Friday that could take tire temps and pressures for me? I've done major chassis setup changes and have no idea where it's at, so there might be a lot of tweak and check.

Thanks,

Don't worry, I'll be right there with you trying to keep up with the ITC cars in my ITS Civic...

Hey Matt - too bad we're not in the same run group. Cause then you'd really just need to keep your pseudo-ITA car up with me. :P
