The MIDIV convention is en early November and I have asked my RE to submit the IT7 class proposal. Will all you 1st Gen RX7 drivers please get your RE on board so this will pass this time. Last year concern about too many classes defeated it. If it is optional, it will be up to the race promoter if they want to run it. The class runs with the IT group so it really isn't any extra administrative work.
If you will race in IT7 in MIDIV if the class is adopted please email me <[email protected] or phone Mike Trier 515-289-2759 so I can make a showing of support for the class.

Mike,
I said it before, but here it is again. It's not just about getting your RE on board. ATTEND THE MEETING. Let the powers that be know WHY you are there. There is strength in numbers.

Besides, the dinner is always a good time, and I'm betting there is a go kart track somewhere close for after the dinner.

Mike, I've contacted my RE and shes on board, but needs firepower. She was able to get the subject on the agenda for the Nov. 15 meeting she'll be attending.

I've got to get her solid reasons for adding the class. Quoting my RE "from the committee chairman I got the feeling she isn't for this. Kind of a "other RE's are saying they don't see a need for a new class"

Has there been any info shared from the other regions (CenDiv?) on how IT7 is adding to the fields? Would racers from surronding regions hit MiDiv if we added IT7?

I'm for it and will do everything I can to get it through, but just cant attend (new baby).

Have you contacted Charlie Clark @ KC Racewear, or the Wiggins' down at RX7 Heaven?

It's not what you build...
it's how you build it

I've talked to Chuck Clark at the MAM double regional this weekend. He's KC Region RE and is supportive. I also had a short email discussion with Mike Wiggins. I am planning to attend the convention and am collecting letters, emails, etc to show support for IT7. There will be other chances for people to talk this up at Heartland Park, GIR and Memphis before the MIDIV convention. I need everyone's help to get written indications of participation as possible so I can present them at the convention. I will also include those from this forum. Scott, please get in touch with me to coordinate. I talked to Dick this weekend and told me you had contacted him.

The Pro IT race at Heartland Park the weekend of October 18th and 19th will include IT7 as a class. Since the weekend is not a MidAm points weekend, this would be a good opportunity for all of the ITA RX-7 guys to show their support for IT7.

If anybody needs an entry, it can be downloaded at the following URL:

Thanks,

I'm going to Heartland Park, #99 silver. Lets get a good turnout and show what IT7 class participation can be. The entry fee is only $200 for a double regional and there is prize money!!!

That's funny. I usually send Chris to Memphis the weekend of my birthday...without me. Then I buy myself a real present.
