Has anyone here used Florida Performance Machine, or Autoshop Racing Engines INC. ?

I would like to have a fresh engine built for my ITA SE-R as well as some work on engine parts for my street car. If anyone has any recomendations or experience with the above, please comment.

Thanks

Russell

Russell,

You might also give a call to Boyd Racing Engines & Machine Shop in downtown Orlando. They are on OBT 1 block south of Michigan. Talk to Jacob Warren.

They have been building engines for years, everything from mini-stocks to full on NASCAR stuff. Will also do just the machine work if that's all you want.
Warning: They're not the cheapest in town.

Maybe Jim Cohen or Richy Gonzalez could weigh in with some input. They have both used local guys for machine shop/rebuild work recently, perhaps they could help.

I used Jeff Pagan from C.W. Pence Rebuilders in Maitland. I don't know if the shop is still called that but I'll post their info when I get in the office on Monday.

Also, while I never used them, a friend of mine speak highly of the this place.

Slightly OT, but are these (or other) shops geared for production work such as we require, i.e. aluminum and SS?

Never hurts to have additional vendors.

Thanks.

Buddy Hendricks at Florida Performance Machine is who you need to talk to. He has built many of the top SCCA winners in the S.E. division, and can help you with everything from motor and trans work to suspension setup and support at the track.

FYI: We won the IT7 class at Homestead last weekend with 12a rotary enging he built back in the 90's.

Those guys probably aren't, but I'm in the machine tool business, so I can point you in the right direction if you have manufacturing needs in the FL or IL area.
