welcome! i guess we will be in the same group. i have a blue Fiat X 1/9, and plan to run in the Gobblins Go... hoping the car holds up well enough, this time, for me to lose that rookie x on the side of my car!

i ran there in May, but the engine didin't hold up, and we haven't had a chance to run again.

Manny,

There is a practice day scheduled for VIR on October 21 (Thursday) prior to the 13-hour race (you do not have to be registered for the 13 hour race), see www.ncrscca.com (http://www.ncrscca.com) for details..

Have you driven Road Atlanta? Many of the sections at Road Atlanta are a lot like VIR. It is said that Road Atlanta was modeled after VIR. The Esses are downhill at Atlanta, and uphill and longer at VIR; Turn 6 & 7 at Atlanta is a wider turn 11 (Oak Tree) at VIR. When I drove Atlanta, was beginning to see the similarities of the two tracks, especially during qualifying, and then my engine broke a rocker arm during the 1st lap of the race.

Manny,

There are also a number of videos available (mostly 1 lap). I know a few can be found at http://www.specmiatavideos.com

My car's ready, but I'm not (haven't been to school). I will be at the test day and the enduro. Hope to meet you there.

Welcome Manny. Look forward to seeing an IT Mustang on track.

Check out the thread below on the Carolina Cup Pro Series. It's a great series for IT, SM and SRF cars, and has attracted big fields this year, with good racing. For me, it is the perfect alternative (at 45 minutes) to the beating my already unreliable car would take in an ECR.

See you at the track.

Manny,

Good luck to you up there. Don't forget a couple things:

1) I think they require tow hooks up there. I just added mine recently, but up there they are required parts.

2) You'll be going up against your old nemesis, my old #88 Mustang. It is now owned and driven by Don Bailey, and is painted purple and white.

Good luck to you !

Welcome, Manny. I'm in north Atlanta and Righty is near Wellford, SC (between Inman, Lyman, and Spartanburg). Our dad is up in Denver, NC (NW of Charlotte near Lake whatsis ?Norman?). Drop us a line any time. On weekends we don't drive we often work corners, so remember, you might know one of those white-suited idiots next time. http://Forum.ImprovedTouring.com/it/smile.gif
