I know several Atlanta region board members visit this site, so I thought this was as good a place as any to ask this question...

I was reading the supps (yes, I actually always read the supps) and found this...

All racing on the oval will be done below the white line on the apron. Any car straying above the line will be subject to a penalty.

Now, I've never turned a wheel at AMS, so I have no reference as to what this really means. As I assume this effectively means we'll be racing on the apron, I have some questions...

1. How wide is the apron?
2. Is it banked at all?
3. What is the condition of the surface? Is it asphalt or concrete?

Sorry if I'm being a nuisance, but given that racing around on the apron strikes me as kind of odd, I wanted a little reassurance that theres plenty of nice, wide, smooth room down there.

Thanks in Advance!

I have questions for AMS also. I've signed up but need to know about space for motorhomes, cost of the NASACAR garages for the weekend. Anybody with info would be appreciated.

I can answer a few. The apron is about 50' wide, part is flat, part is slightly banked. Surface is asphalt.

Per the supps, garages will rent for $30. Not sure about the motorhome bit yet.
