I am trying to decide whether to go out to LRP on Thursday night or Friday morning. A short night's sleep in my own bed is ALWAYS better than a longer night in my sleeping bag at the track! Right now Group 9 has 43 entries - 14 ITB and 29 Spec Miata. Group 2 has 75?? I have not been able to make those numbers add up. Anybody? But, my questions are 1) has anyone heard if they are going to re-arrange the groups to even out the numbers? 2) do they EVER announce the "re-arranging" ahead of schedule so that if you do get moved to an early run group you don't show up a few minutes before you're due on the track? 3) any guesses as to what they'll do??

thanks,

Tim M

Patullo will know, but I think they never move it up in the schedule...the solution is most often to add a group, "9A" for example...

I don't think they have time to add any groups...time in the day that is.

I don't have a clue. this is a northern new jersey event. call the chief steward or the registrar listed in the supps. I am sure they are already talking about the proposed changes.

Come on Tim……. its wine country just enjoy the night at the track!!! I am sure you can find something to do (ctwine.com)
BUT I would love to see us get moved to an earlier group, I have a 30yr anniversary party to go to Saturday night

Just sent an email to NNJR asst chief steward and will post back if I recieve any relevant news. Hoping that they do NOT add any groups, but based on the numbers of some groups (very low) and high numbers of a couple of groups it seems that they could squeeze a few together and make a little more sense of it. But, predicting car counts and trying to keep us all happy is impossible anyway!

Just as "someone" told me this year when I got moved to ITA: all your excuses just evaporated away...

I saw this rule in the supps:

Oversubscribed Races: If there are more than 38 cars entered in a race, the following procedure applies: each car’s qualifying time is
compared as a percentage of the leader’s time in that class. (i.e. Your time is 65 seconds, the class leader’s is 60 seconds; 65/60 x
100=108%) Cars with the highest percentages become alternates for the race, to the point where the 38 car field is filled. Cars higher than
120% may be excluded.

I'm in group 2...with 75 people in it. Does that mean I need to qualify in the top ~50% to race? I can't believe they would turn away half of a run group.

Never mind...I just did the math.

15 ITS
2 SSC
27 SSM

Only adds up to 44. So, I could believe they'd turn away 6 people. I just hope I'm not one of them.

Folks;

this just rec'd from Terry Roberts with NNJR....."I am anticipating that the Chief Steward will be making decisions today regarding shifts in groups. I will try to reach as many people as possible, but it will effect lots. "

She suggested that if I don't hear from her by tomorrow that I should call her. Whatever I hear I will pass it on.

Jeff - you have NOTHING to fear - I can NOT figure out LRP in this new car. The A3 does not like to be "thrown" into the West Bend at all like my old GTI!! Still working on it, but if you could just show me how you do that double roll, loop and tuck thing, and then land on your tires, Joey Chitwood ain't gonna have nothing on me!......See you at LRP!
