I got a call yesterday to tell me that NER ITS driver Jeff Poor passed away. He had recently moved to California. Following an autopsy he will be brought back to CT for
services. I don't have any other information but will pass info along as I get it.

(Jeff) James Poor, 32, of Rancho Cordova, CA, formerly of East Granby, died
suddenly on Wednesday (March 2, 2005) in Rancho Cordova, CA. Born on
December 13, 1972 in Hartford, he was the son of James C. and Janice (Price)
Poor. Jeff attended East Granby Schools and was self-employed as a driving
instructor and car tester. Jeff had owned and operated his own racecar, and
often raced at Lime Rock, Watkins Glen, New Hampshire International
Speedway, and many races tracks around the country. Besides his parents
James and Jan, he leaves, three brothers, Rick Rome of Enfield, Roger Rome
and his wife Debbie of Enfield, and Randy Rome and his wife Kelly of Granby;
a sister Rita Daves of Windsor; nine nieces and nephews, Tim and Jenna
Daves, Josh, Laura, Danielle, and Leah Rome, and Melissa Rome, Tyler and
Bryan Rome; an Aunt Dorothy Blank of CA, and a cousin Avis Craig of FL. A
funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 4pm in the Chapel of the Carmon
Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave, Windsor. Burial will be private
at the request of his family. His family will receive friends on Wednesday
prior to the service from 2-4pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers
memorial donations may be made to the Hole in the Wall Gang Fund, 555 Long

Oh no. He will be greatly missed. At least he really did live life to the fullest. I'll assume he was doing what he loved best. Here's to you, Jeff.
