Items of note from last night's meeting:

* Tow hooks. Don't forget that they're mandatory this year, with an inside diameter of 2 inches. Tech is not out to scalp anybody; if you get your car teched at the first NHIS race and your tow hooks are not in, you will be allowed to race that weekend -- but will need to get them taken care of before the next event. To avoid a second Tech line, though, why not just figure out a solution before the season?

* Great news: To be as customer-friendly as possible, NER is working to accept credit-card payments and will have a system in place sometime this year.

* More good news: Several ITS, ITB, and SM drivers asked if a run group could be inserted between ITS/ITB and SM/SSM, because there's a lot of cross-pollinization there. (In 2004, the two groups always ran back-to-back.) The board agreed, and in 2005, the order will be: ITS/ITB, then big-bore Production, *then* SM/SSM.

* For the most part, Regional entry fees will go unchanged from 2004. The exception is NER's lone Lime Rock Regional; expect a higher entry fee there as the track has apparently decided to stick it to SCCA in every manner imaginable.

* Speaking of which: Where scheduling is concerned, very little is certain regarding Lime Rock. This is not the fault of any Northeast Regions; they are as frustrated as competitors are. As far as I could tell, none of the proposed Lime Rock Regionals, *including the NARRC Runoffs,* are set in stone. We need to stay flexible and understand that our club officials are doing everything they can to nail down these dates.
