Ok here is the pre-race count:

http://www.nescca.com/registration/current...count.asp?ID=62 (http://www.nescca.com/registration/currentcount.asp?ID=62)

So.......
Which group do you think will be the largest?
Who will win?
Will it rain and do you want it to?

So much to talk about!!! I think the funniest thing is that ITB and SM are grouped together. I know they couldn't have been able to tell what classes are going to be the largest but I'm suprised they haven't already planned to change it, or maybe they have they just aren't allowed to yet.

Race Group
1 ITS, SS/A-B-C
2 A-C-D/SR, F/A-C-M-S, S2
3 AS,GT/1-2-3, ITE, T1, T2, SPO
4 SRF
5 FF, NCF
6 ITB, Spec-Miata
7 GT/4-5, E-F-G-H/Prod, SPU
8 ITA, ITC
9 FV, F500 (Split Grid)

Ok, great thanks for the date Stephen. Now how about a space to sleep for one of the region's nicest looking six foot tall road cones?
I'll wrench at night, after I get off track if I have to, too.

LOL...

She would love to go, and I would love to have her!!! Unfortunatly work will be taking her on a business trip far far from here http://Forums.ImprovedTouring.com/it/frown.gif

Thanks to all those that did help her after MY BROTHER set her up for disaster... We didn't blame her and we still don't. She reads this forum also but keeps her comments to herself... so I must put in a little plug for myself...

hey hun, look I am even saying for everyone to see, it wasn't your fault!!! We will blame stephen http://Forums.ImprovedTouring.com/it/smile.gif

Does anyone know how much over crew will be this year? I will have at least 6 people for my crew but only three are allowed. I thought it might have the amount in the supps but no such luck I read them twice!

What is it with me and the NARRC. I have more bad luck there than Wendell has at New Hampster http://Forums.ImprovedTouring.com/it/biggrin.gif Does anyone out there practice voodooism, obeah maybe, or some other type of worship, that can help me break this spell that has been cast upon my soul. Maybe there is a duppy (Jamaican for boogie man) that rides shotgun with me at LRP, that is just there to attract evil. Help http://Forums.ImprovedTouring.com/it/eek.gif

Ray,

FlatOut will have something there for you. If we bring 'him', he must ride in the car. Bring some zip-ties.

yes, that is correct I believe, except, for this race only we will be having a special "Duppy installation lap" on Sat morning. Should be photo worthy to see the spirits banished by those cars taking to the track with their new "duppies" installed.

As long as the 'spirits' don't leave the car in the form of smoke or oil, as they do so often with Windell. (what's up with that, btw?)

Watch out for the "ITC" race. Hired guns coming to town who have logged NARRC points. Big "C" field too, 8 cars. Hired Guns include Fred White (coming out of retirement), Richard Smith (three tests days at LRP since last run), Meg Meyer ( hot Honda girl). Should be a good race with "bragging rights" on the line. I'm bringing out all the tricks to peddle hard and picking up new smeakers today.

Hired Guns include Fred White Honda(coming out of retirement), Richard Smith VW(three tests days at LRP since last run), Meg Meyer (hot shoe Honda girl). Don't forget about Ric Gile VW(I'll just push em out of the way, heard Jeff has him in his gun sights) and Chris Jones VW (I'm not sleepin, just checking my eyes for holes). They're all fast. Should be a good race with "bragging rights" on the line. I'm bringing out all the goodies to peddle hard (rains), and picking up new sneakers today. A little Isabel would go a long way.

Anthony - Does the wax actually help with your slip stream? Also, heard there were some hired guns in ITA coming to town. The rest of the world wants to test the NE. It will never rain, just the mention of rain will keep it away.

Since it is called the 'runoffs', are there any unique rules/qualifying concerns? I've read through the supps, but just want to make sure I'm not missing something.

The key to making it rain is to wash/wax your car AT the track. We did this at Watkins Glen and it worked! Or if it doesnt rain at least you might pick up a tenth or two just from better air flow over the car. http://Forums.ImprovedTouring.com/it/smile.gif And i need all the help i can get when driving the BOX! http://Forums.ImprovedTouring.com/it/biggrin.gif.......John

In actuality, we did move the engine, sorta. To make a long story short here is what we did. The hood was caved in pretty good and we couldn't find a 'Ding King' large enough to pull it back into shape, so we left it like that. The frame was also bent in such a way that if we had straightened it out all the way it would have cracked. This presented a space challenge when the time came to put the engine back in but we came up with the ultimate solution. We mounted the engine transversely along with the tranny but the tailshaft posed another minor problem as it was a bit too long. So we removed the tailshaft, took the driveshaft and cut it into two halfshafts, plugged it into the tranny at both ends and connected them to the front wheels instead. The other real problem was due to the fact that the hood was still caved in , we couldn't get it to close because the carb and air cleaner assembly was too tall so we removed that too and replaced it with a fuel injection set up that is set much closer to the engine thus allowing enough room for the hood to close. The car looks pretty good now but we hope that the TECH gods won't frown upon these few alterations and if they do, we'll just have to call it something else. http://Forums.ImprovedTouring.com/it/tongue.gif

Things are bad when your not even acknowledged in the C possibles.
If it rains (oh please, oh please, oh please), under powered, over weight cars like EXPs may be just the ticket.
All you guys with fresh paint / wax,no need to worry about rain, just look out for "Gile Factor".
Good Luck to all the point contenders,
