In the ITCS it says that a front spoiler/Air Dam is permitted. Then it goes on to say that Dealer installed and limited production front/rear air dams wings and spoilers are prohibited.

Needless to say this is confusing!

What I interpret this to mean is that dealer installed or limited production front/rear wings or whatever that DO NOT meet the other criteria specified in the rules, are not permitted.

That is accurate. It actually goes back to a rear lip spoiler that Mazda dealers were installing on RX7s back in the early days of IT, if memory serves...

I think it's more aimed @ the Rear spoiler/lip's than the front spoiler/air dam.

Then why the specific descrioption of the front spoiler not potruding forward of the body outline and being mounted to the body and not extending higher than 4" above the horizontal centerline of the front hubs?

Then their are specifics on air openings if you use a front spoiler/ air-dam and specifics if you don't.

It looks like a politician wrote it.

Keep in mind also that the key wording here is "dealer installed" and "limited production"...
