they look lime they might make an affordable tire comperable to a Hoosier dirt stocker???

anyone ever try one???

here is a catalog with thier DOT legal tires listed... http://www.boubin.com/Pages/2004RaceTireCatalog.pdf

Never delt with that dealer, or used or herd of anyone using these tires on IT Cars... so I thought it might make for an interesting conversation...

Some strange looking tread patterns. I would guess that they might be some sort of DOT bias ply dirt racing tire?

IIRC, these are made by McCreary, a well known name in short-track racing. Some of those DOT patterns look like the old Hoosier bias ply tires (Auto Crosser and Street Stocker, IIRC). There was a class at one of the short tracks (asphalt) in NE Pa. that required DOT tires. Some kind of compact 4-cyl class.

...and the smallest option has an OD of 26.4 inches. That's 3.5 inches the wrong way from where I am on Toyos but, who knows - maybe the overdrive effect would be helpful in the rain. The ground clearance would be cool. http://ITForum.ImprovedTouring.com/smile.gif

A kind of "old wive's tale", Fred.

Dirt Stockers are DOT for IT purposes, although they are a bias ply.

Hoosier certainly wants to phase them out in favor of the "Radial Wet", but they haven't been able to do so for the smaller sizes.

Cheers.

the old dirt stockers are
